The Eye Centre Hornsby provides comprehensive eye care for people of all ages. The practice was initially set up by Dr Peter Anderson in our current location in 1969. Dr Steven Wine joined the practice in 1998. Our facilities were recently renovated and upgraded to ensure the highest level of patient care and evidence-based practice.

Dr Steven Wine
Consultant Ophthalmologist
Dr. Steven Wine graduated from medicine at New South Wales University in 1987. After resident training he was involved in a glaucoma based research program through the Australian National University. His registrar training was based at Sydney Eye Hospital with significant periods of time in Darwin and Albury.
As an ophthalmologist, Dr Wine worked in Randwick, Fairfield and Blacktown before joining with Dr. Peter Anderson in Hornsby. Dr Wine has an interest in teaching and is involved in both undergraduate teaching, at the University of Sydney, and postgraduate training through the college of General Practitioners & AMEC.
Dr Wine is on the Medical Advisory Committee for the Madison Day Surgery, and is a visiting medical officer at both the Madison Day Surgery and Chatswood Private Hospital.

Our friendly staff between them have over thirty years’ experience in ophthalmology administration. They will ensure your visit to The Eye Centre Hornsby is a pleasurable one. They are very knowledgeable with all aspects of administration including liaising with health funds and hospital bookings. Kate, the practice manager, has been here for more than twenty years and has gained a wealth of knowledge in the health administration area. Annette, our long suffering typist, has also been here over thirteen years. She is very happy to have a joke with the patients. Belinda joined the team over two years ago at the reception desk and also assists the Orthoptist and Dr Wine when needed.
They are all willing to give our patients the best possible care and attention.
