What do I need to bring with me?

You need to bring the referral letter from your Dr or Optometrist with you on the day of your appointment. Please bring your current glasses with you and a list of all medications you are currently taking.  You should also bring your medicare card and Health Fund or Pension card if applicable.

How long will my appointment be?

Your first appointment will usually involve seeing the Dr and the orthoptist (who will do some initial tests) and this will normally take around an hour.  We aim to run to time and so you should expect to be finished within the hour in most cases.

What time should I arrive?

For all new appointments, please arrive ten minutes before your appointment time to complete paperwork with the reception staff.

Can I drive after my appointment?

You should expect that you will not be able to drive for up to 2 hours after the appointment as the drops we use when examining your eyes can make your vision blurry. It is best to bring someone with you who can drive you home.

Will I need more than one appointment?

It will depend on how what condition or difficulty you have. Some patients will only need to be seen once and others may need to come back several times. Dr Wine will be able to discuss this with you on the day of your first appointment.
